On Thursday 5th May, the Conservatives successfully retained control of Bexley Council due to the fact that we had a :
- great record in delivering the very best for Bexley
- brilliant manifesto for the next four years, and,
- first class team of candidates.
In Bexleyheath and Crayford, we won all four of the wards that we currently hold: Barnehurst, Bexleyheath, Crayford and Crook Log.
We bucked the national trend showing the strength in the Conservative election message across the borough and the first class reputation the council has for delivering for the people of Bexley.
Across the whole borough we held all our seats bar one. The Council is now: Conservative (33) and Labour 12. The full results can be seen on the Council Website.
As well as electing new Councillors (Bola Carew, Felix di Netimah, Rags Sandhu, Chris Taylor and Janice Ward-Wilson), a number stood down (Sybil Camsey, Eileen Pallen and Brad Smith), stood elsewhere (Christine Bishop) or in the case of Linda Bailey, sadly passed away. We would like to officially place on record our thanks to all five of them for their dedication and service to Bexley as well as to the residents and businesses in their respective wards.
We look forward to serving the people of Bexleyheath and Crayford, and, the whole borough, for the next four years and beyond.
