Rt Hon David Evennett, MP and Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury, was re-adopted by Bexleyheath and Crayford Conservatives to be their Parliamentary candidate in the General Election on 8th June at a packed meeting of local members. The meeting was held at the Roberts Hall last night (27th April).
Mr Evennett addressed the meeting and spoke of the need for strong and stable leadership at this time under the Conservatives to unite the country. The alternative would be a left wing government under Labour, in alliance with other minority parties, which would do great harm to our country. He believed that on the major issues of Brexit, education, the NHS, immigration and transport only the Conservatives had coherent and sensible policies. He also praised the dynamic and effective leadership of the Prime Minister, Theresa May, who understood the “aspirations and hopes of the people of our country”.
