Rt Hon Sir David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, attended a reception in Parliament earlier today (16 July) hosted by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN). Sir David met with nursing staff and students delivering care across hospitals, care homes and community settings to learn more about their experiences.
Sir David spent time speaking with nurses from local hospital Queen Elizabeth (QEH), as well as other hospitals across London. He is pictured with nurses Andrea Wilson, Ann Muhammad, Noeleen Behan and Danielle Tiplady, as well as RCN President Professor Anne Marie Rafferty CBE. They spoke about staffing levels, agency staff, quality of care, and the change of leadership at QEH.
Sir David commented: “it was good to attend this event today and meet some fantastic nurses providing vital frontline care, and to hear about their experiences working for the NHS. We are all incredibly grateful for the job they do.”
