Rt Hon Steve Barclay MP Secretary of State for Health and Social Care was the Guest Speaker at a fundraising dinner to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Sir David Evennett’s Election to Parliament for Erith and Crayford in June 1983.
The Dinner was held on Thursday evening at the Boathouse, Danson Park with BCCA President Mark Brooks OBE in the Chair. Among the Guests were Old Bexley & Sidcup MP Louie French, Police and Crime Commissioner, Matt Scott and Bexley Councillors, Rags Sandhu, Sue Gower MBE, Abimbola Carew, Janice Ward-Wilson, James Hunt and John Davey. The Association Chairman, Dave Jeffries and Officer's, Janet Power, Marian Pollard and Joe Pollard also attended.
The Secretary of State spoke about the NHS and Social Care, the Governments increased funding for health, increased role for Pharmacy, Government reforms and the determination to get waiting lists down. He also took members questions.
Rt Hon Sir David Evennett MP gave the vote of thanks and spoke about his recollections of the General Election night in June 1983.
The evening concluded with the traditional Tory raffle.
