Rt Hon Sir David Evennett MP attended an Investiture at Buckingham Palace yesterday (Thursday 20 December) held by HRH the Prince of Wales to receive the Honour of Knighthood. Sir David was accompanied by his wife Marilyn and their two sons.
At the formal ceremony Sir David was presented to Prince Charles and then had to kneel on a Velvet Investiture Stool to receive the Accolade, which is bestowed using the King George VI sword. He was then invested with the Insignia of the Award.
Afterwards Sir David said “it was a really wonderful and unforgettable occasion to share with my close family and it was a privilege to meet and speak with His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales.”
