Rt Hon David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, visited MH Foods in Erith on Friday morning (6 May). The factory is based in the Church Trading Estate, Slade Green Road, and produce Frylight, a one calorie per spray cooking oil.
Mr Evennett received presentations from Paul Fraser, Managing Director of MH Foods, and Olivia Seccombe, from the parent company Dairy Crest, about the history of the company and its focus on healthy eating. They moved on to discussed the product range, issues the company face, and future growth plans. Mr Evennett then spoke about his position as the Sports Minister, and how this relates to the Government’s aim to tackle obesity and get people eating healthily. Then he was given a tour of the factory.
After the visit Mr Evennett commented: “it was a pleasure to visit the factory to speak with employees and see first-hand how they produce these innovative products. The company employ a number of local residents and is a fantastic success story for Bexley”.
