Texcel Technology, an electronic design and manufacturing company based in Crayford, celebrated its 40th anniversary with a party on Thursday 30 June.

The company opened as F.S Texcel in 1976 in the Coach House, Greenwich, and initially manufactured complex ship loading computers. Over the years they have produced a wide range of interesting products, including the Division Bell System in Westminster, the first  Cabled SubSea Observation System, and the BT International Tariff Controller.

Among the guests was Rt Hon David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford. Upon his arrival, Mr Evennett was given a tour of the facility with other guests, before heading to the roof for lunch, cake and champagne.

Mr Evennett is pictured with Andy McLeod, Managing Director of Texcel Technology. The two discussed the history of the company and how Texcel has grown over the past 40 years.

Following the celebration, Mr Evennett commented: "I am delighted to have been invited here today to celebrate Texcel Technology's 40th anniversary. It was a very well organised event, and the business is a great example of a local success story".
