Rt Hon David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, attended a coffee morning in Barnehurst Road in aid of Macmillan's World's Biggest a coffee Morning on Friday 30 September.
The event was organised by Anne Rawlings and Hilary Haslam, and with their volunteers they also raised extra funds by offering coffee, tea and cakes to passing commuters on their way to Barnehurst Station. Overall, they raised £701.53.
The coffee morning is held across the UK and is Macmillan's biggest fundraising event of the year. Last year the charity raised over £25 million.
Mr Evennett commented: "I am delighted to be here today to support such a fantastic charity. They do great work to help people suffering from cancer and their families, and it's good to see the local community coming together to show how much they value Macmillan".
