Rt Hon David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford and Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury, was the guest of honour at the ‘Let it Glow’ parade yesterday evening (7 December) in the pedestrianised area of the Broadway, Bexleyheath.
Local children participated in a free pop-up lantern making workshop with internationally renowned artist and curator, Tessa Garland, and paraded their creations to light up the High Street.
Adding to the festive fun was a special arts and crafts fair and food stalls, offering a unique festive shopping experience.
At the event, Mr Evennett spoke with parents, children and organisers before marching with a lantern. He commented: “I am delighted to be here this evening. The organisers have done a fantastic job and the children have really engaged to make some brilliant lanterns”.
