Rt Hon Gavin Williamson MP, Secretary of State for Defence, was the guest speaker at the Bexleyheath and Crayford Conservatives Annual Dinner held on Thursday evening (7 June) at the Stuzzichini restaurant in Bexleyheath.
The sell-out event was hosted by Association Chairman, Mark Brooks, and organised by Association Deputy Chairman, Maureen King.
Mr Williamson gave an informative and witty speech about his life, his present job and his early political career before speaking about our defence strategy, our wonderful armed forces, and how only a Conservative government put the safety and security of Britain as the top priority.
Following his address, he answered members’ questions, and Rt Hon Sir David Evennett MP gave the vote of thanks. Among the guests at the dinner were Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP, Cllr Gareth Bacon AM, Bexley Council Leader, Cllr Teresa O’Neill OBE, and Kent Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Scott.
