Rt Hon Sir David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, has been appointed as Co-Chair of the Policy Group ‘Building a fairer society’. Rt Hon Maria Miller MP will also serve as Co-Chair, and full membership of the Group will be announced in due course.

The Policy Group’s main focuses will be how to use government to drive social reform and social mobility; how to remove barriers to those with disabilities; and how to promote integration and equality.

Sir David commented: “I am delighted to be appointed as Co-Chair of the ‘Building a fairer society’ Policy Group. I look forward to working closely with Maria to explore ways in which we can improve social mobility, better support people with disabilities, and promote integration and social cohesion.”

There are four other Policy Groups, which will be looking at ‘Energising our economy’, ‘Transforming our public services’, ‘Sustaining our democracy’, and ‘Shaping a Global Britain’.
