Rt Hon Sir David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, paid a visit to the refurbished Danson Stables last week (Friday 5 July).
Danson Stables was built in the 1700s and it was originally a stable block belonging to the Mansion House in the park. The Grade-II listed building has recently enjoyed a £300,000 refurbishment, reopening just in time for the summer. The pub boasts a selection of pale ales and craft ales – including Bexley’s Own Beer – that are rotated to bring the best in regional, local and seasonal specials.
Sir David was greeted by General Manager, Darren Appleby, and Area Manager, Allen Charlton. He then toured the venue and discussed plans for the future, before chatting with staff and pulling a pint.
Sir David commented: “Danson Stables is obviously in a fantastic location in Danson Park and looks brilliant after the refurbishment. It has a positive and friendly atmosphere and I am sure it will continue to be successful”.
